This international and interdisciplinary workshop implements a collaborative analysis of Polish, Ottoman and Turkish entangled history, its intellectual dimension and interaction in its borderlands since the sixteenth century. By engaging the longue durée of shared Polish-Ottoman/Turkish history, the workshop participants aim to help overcome disciplinary differentiation in dealing with Polish history as a part of the East European Studies and the Ottoman past explored as a rule by Orientalists as a branch of Middle Eastern or Islamic Studies.
